Patrol Unit Leaders (PUL) are dedicated adults who are assigned to a patrol of up to 9 youth, to support and guide them through their Jamboree experience.<\/p>\n

PULs have very specific requirements – in fact, you won’t be registering with the Canadian Contingent as a confirmed member, but rather applying for the position of a PUL.<\/p>\n

In order to apply as a Patrol Unit Leader, members must be born\u00a0before July 30th, 2009<\/em><\/strong>. <\/em>This ensures that they will be at least 18 at the time of the Jamboree.<\/p>\n

We’re asked this quite often – the “what if” scenarios – so we want to make it clear that contingents\u00a0do not have any ability to request exemptions<\/em><\/strong>. This is a set rule by WOSM, to ensure that all youth have one opportunity to attend as a participant.<\/p>\n

Well…. yes! They must remain active members of Scouts Canada or Association des Scouts du Canada, in good standing, until the conclusion of the Jamboree. Should their membership lapse or change, their registration will be cancelled.<\/p>\n

Other than that, like Scouting, the Jamboree is open to all members of Scouting, inclusive of all genders, backgrounds, and abilities!<\/p>\n

Like any major Scouting event, there are fees associated with attending the Jamboree. As a World Scout Jamboree, the fees are typically higher for countries like Canada to attend, to ensure the event is afforable for other countries who may not otherwise be able to participate.<\/p>\n
