Youth Participants

Youth have only one chance to attend a World Scout Jamboree, which makes this such a momentous event for them.
Let’s take a look at all of the details you need to know, before you register!
Who can go as a participant?
Youth participants have a mandatory age range, allowing them to have one opportunity to attend a World Scout Jamboree as a participant.
Youth Birth Date Requirement
In order to attend as a youth participant, their birth date must be between the two following dates:
July 30th, 2009
July 30th, 2013
There are no exemptions permitted
We’re asked this quite often – the “what if” scenarios – so we want to make it clear that contingents do not have any ability to request exemptions. This is a set rule by WOSM, to ensure that all youth have one opportunity to attend as a participant.

Anything else?
Well…. yes! Participants must remain active members of Scouts Canada or Association des Scouts du Canada, in good standing, until the conclusion of the Jamboree. Should their membership lapse or change, their registration will be cancelled.
Other than that, like Scouting, the Jamboree is open to all members of Scouting, inclusive of all genders, backgrounds, and abilities!
Participant Fees
Like any major Scouting event, there are fees associated with attending the Jamboree. As a World Scout Jamboree, the fees are typically higher for countries like Canada to attend, to ensure the event is afforable for other countries who may not otherwise be able to participate.
Youth Participant Fee

This Jamboree is for the youth.
We commit to ensuring that every element of our Jamboree fees will ensure they have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

What do you do with my fees?
That’s a great question! Recall how we said that everything the Canadian Contingent does is with a youth-first perspective?
We want to be completely transparent with you about where their hard-earned fees will be used in the Jamboree. So let’s break it down….
Hover over the question marks on the image for more details on each bucket.

Jamboree fees are set by the Poland 2027 organizers, and are almost double previous Jamborees
Pre-Camp covers all costs associated with it, and will be held before the Jamboree in Europe
Administration covers the preparation costs and administrative expenses
Kit & Merch are your Jamboree outfit and gear
Program covers costs for the theme of the Canadian Contingent, and our Culture Day
With the size and future date of the Jamboree, we require sound Risk Provisions, such as currency fluctuations, ensuring we don’t require additional fees
Travel is included in our fees, including support for any delays/issues may arise
Insurance from the Contingent is required for all contingent members
